Alicia Marie Mazepa
Alicia Marie Mazepa has been dancing since the age of four. Her training includes ballet, tap, Jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, ballroom and acro. In college, she was a member of the Towson University Dance Team which won the first ever National Team Championship. Alicia, as well, was honored by winning the National Solo Championship.
As a professional dancer, her resume includes performing with many artists such as Beyonce, Jay-z, Pink, and P.Diddy to name a few. She has appeared on Saturday Night Live, 30 Rock, Victoria Secret Fashion Show, Guiding Light, and also in the feature films “Across the Universe” and “Old Dogs”.
Alicia was also a Knicks City Dancer for 3 years and continues to choreograph for the team to this day. She has performed and choreographed
several industrials for Panasonic, Toyota, Reebock and Barbie to name a few, that have brought her to places such as Japan, Turkey, Germany, Prague, and Dubai. She has also co-choreographed upfront’s for Family Guy and GLEE.
Alicia has been very blessed to teach many children throughout the years of all different ages and levels. As well as her dance background, she is also finishing up her BS in Education at William Paterson University. She is very excited to be starting her next journey at Miss Patti’s School of Dance.
Dancing since the age of four, Lauren has been performing, choreographing and teaching
extensively throughout the tri-state area for over ten years, achieving numerous credits and awards. She earned her BA in Dance from Muhlenberg College in 2008 with Magna Cum Laude honors, having trained in various styles and techniques including ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, modern, contemporary, hip hop and tap.
A native Pennsylvanian, last June, Lauren realized her dream and moved to Manhattan.
She is now very excited, as we are, to teach at our dance school .
A local New Jersey native, Nicole began dance at age 4 and graduated Montclair State University with a degree in Dance Education. In addition to having performed with the Montclair University Repertory Company, Nicole has performed the past three years with Met Life Stadium Bud Light Dance Team.
Mrs. Tirro is thrilled to join Miss Patti’s family. She has taught in studios for over 25 years including Coupe Theatre Studio and The Dance Loft in Rockland County, NY. Since 1996, she has advised, directed and choreographed Spring Valley High School’s dramatic and musical theatre productions with International Thespian Troupe 721. She also created the dance program at Spring Valley, where she designed curriculum and has taught courses in Modern, Ballet, Multicultural Dance and Choreography, culminating in a year-end concert featuring over 250 students. Her work with Thespian Troupe 721 has earned the organization numerous nominations with the Metropolitan High School Theatre awards, including 2 personal wins for Outstanding Choreography for “Fame” (2009) and “In The Heights” (2014). She was honored as one of Rockland Magazine’s “A+ Teachers” (2009) and was nominated for the Arts Council of Rockland’s Arts Educator award in 2011 and 2012. In addition, she was honored in 2011 by the Spring Valley community for East Ramapo’s PTA Founders Day celebration. In 2015, she was featured in two publications for her work with Thespians: in June, American Theatre magazine published “Dancing On The Edge With Spring Valley High’s Thespian Troupe 721”; in September, she was featured in Theatrefolk.com’s podcast entitled “These Kids Are Worth It”. Mrs. Tirro holds a BFA in Theatre from Montclair State University an MA in Dance and Dance Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. When she’s not teaching, Mrs. Tirro is home raising her two beautiful daughters, Julia and Sophia.
Kerri danced professionally in NYC for over fifteen years. As a long-time member of the modern repertory company, Rondo American Dance Theatre, she toured the United States and abroad. While with the company, she performed classic modern dance works by choreographers such as Jose Limon, Moses Pendelton, and Charles Weidman, as well as personally working with Anna Sokolow, Murry Lewis, Pauline Koner, Paul Sanasardo, Mary Anthony, Doug Verone and others.
In 2009 she had the incredible opportunity to teach a master class for Nina Novak (of Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo) in Caracus, Venezuela, as well as for Martha Gomez on the beautiful island of Margarita.In 2012 she was chosen to create a children’s movement program for the research project, Optimal Defaults in the Prevention of Childhood Obesity, under Dr. Katharine Loeb in the Clinical Psychology Dept. at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
