grew up in Ridgewood, New Jersey. She began dancing at the
age of 3. She attended Hartford University with majors in Dance Education (specializing in Choreography), and Early Childhood Education (specializing in Special Education), with a minor in Art. During the school day, Mary teaches pre-school Special Education and has done so for over a decade. Mary is certified in Zumba instruction, and here at Miss Patti's she teaches ballet/pointe and Character (study of dance from different cultures around the world). Mary has been with Miss Patti's for many
years and is thrilled to continue. She thanks her beautiful
and talented students for being her inspiration and for their hard work and dedication.
Ivory-Yamout, RAD, RTS
received her formal dance training under Patricia Wattley
ARAD, of the Ballet Rusee de Monte Carlo, The Royal Academy
of Dancing in England and USA, Harkness House under the
direction of David Howard, Broadway Dance Center, Steps
and Purchase College. Rose is a seasoned teacher in training
young professionals in Classical Ballet for over 18 years.
She is a Certified, Registered Teacher/Full Member of the
Royal Academy of London, England (USA branch) and an Affiliated
Member of the American Academy of Ballet. Rose has successfully
entered over 200 students in RAD Children's and Major Examinations
from 1988-1998. Her students have attended the School of
American Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, The Royal Winnipeg
School, Ballet West, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Hartford Ballet
and the American Academy of Ballet at Vassar College. Previous
students of Rose have been accepted at top universities,
such as, Southern Methodist University, North Carolina School
of the Arts and Purchase College as dance majors and have
successfully gone on to perform, teach and choreograph.
After taking time off from teaching dance to raise her two
boys, Rose returns to the studio again with renewed enthusiasm
and passion to once more develop beautiful young dancers.
Lili began studying in Caracas, Venezuela and received her greatest guidance under Nina Novak in the Vaganova Method. At age 11, she was accepted into the Royal Ballet School in London, England. Four years later, she graduated to the Royal Ballet Upper School, where she studied for 3 more years while also performing as an apprentice with the Royal Ballet at Covent Garden.
She was offered a contract with the Saddler’s Wells Royal Ballet, dancing in the corps de ballet and was soon thereafter promoted to coryphée and then soloist. Lili was fortunate to work with, and create roles for, some of the most prominent choreographers of the 20th century including Dame Ninette deValois, Sir Peter Wright, Sir Frederick Ashton, Sir Kenneth MacMillan, Rudolph Nureyev and David Bintley, to name but a few. While with the Saddler’s Wells Royal Ballet, she participated in all the company’s major classics as well as contemporary works.
Since retiring from performing, Lili has taught at many studios throughout California, Arizona, New York and New Jersey, at elementary, intermediate and advanced levels. Throughout her teaching years, Lili has given private lessons and coached students for upcoming roles and auditions. She has also choreographed, rehearsed and mounted productions for bi-annual performances, as well as creating small group pieces for competitions, which won top awards.
Lili is very happy to be teaching at Miss Patti's School of Dance.
started dancing when she was four years old. She began dancing
competitively at age ten. From there, she was given the
chance to perform in Disney World on three separate occasions.
At age 17, Amy was chosen to be part of a group called PowerPak
to perform and take master classes in Orlando, Florida.
Some of her teachers include Frank Hatchett and Lisa Allain.
Amy is currently pursuing a degree in management from Montclair
State University with plans to graduate May of 2008. This
is Amy's first year teaching at Miss Patti's. She would
like to thank everyone for welcoming her as well as Patti
and Darryl for giving her this great opportunity.
Kathy Muenz (whose professional name is Flynn McMichaels) has performed on Broadway and National Tours of A Chorus Line (over 1800 performances) Camelot (with Richard Harris), La Cage Aux Folles (with Gene Barry), as well as in summer stock and on concert dance stages. In addition she appeared on Saturday Night Live, Not Necessarily the News, Statue of Liberty Celebration, Regis & Kathie Lee, and several television commercials.
She was an adjunct professor of dance at Ramapo College of NJ from 2000-2005, and a visiting professor at Stephens College in Columbia, MO,after which she began teaching in the NY State Public Schools as a certified dance and theater educator.
She has directed and/or choreographed over 35 high school and college productions as well as several professional shows, including staging A Chorus Line for the St. Louis Municipal Opera, the largest outdoor professional theater in the United States.
She is married to actor/singer Richard Muenz.
